Adam and Christal’s Wedding

I was so happy when Adam and Christal asked me to photograph their wedding! These two are such a fun couple and I knew we would be able to get some great photos.

It was a small ceremony at City Hall with close family and friends, and while I have photographed larger weddings and loved those, there’s something I find a little more romantic with the smaller ones. I met them at the City Hall in downtown London, Ontario. Crann Wedding 002_1

Christal was stunning in her gorgeous white dress with her blue accents that gave this snowy day the lovely pop of colour it needed.

We headed inside where it was warm and waited for the rest of the guests to arrive. While we waited we grabbed a few photos.

We then proceeded into the room and everyone took their seats so the ceremony could begin.

It was short and sweet with lots of laughs, their youngest wanted the spotlight and she was dancing all around the room at one point, it was super cute! I made them pose for one last photo before we left, Adam wanted to join in on the fun too.

We then headed off to Victoria Park to take some more photos of the lovely couple and their girls.

The girls were getting cold which was expected on a snowy March day, so we sent them off with Christal’s Best friend/MOH to go get warm and we braved through the cold a bit longer.

We had an amazing dinner at Michaels on the Thames. From the salad, the soup and the main course there wasn’t anyone that went unsatisifed. The best part of course was dessert, they have the most AMAZING Sticky Toffee Pudding. I have only had it once and I want to go back just for that alone!

Thanks again for allowing me to capture your beautiful day!

Abigail and Kyle’s Wedding

When Abigail contacted me about photographing her wedding, she told me she would be getting married on Halloween day, and that they would be having a Masquerade themed wedding, needless to say I was so excited! The weather that day wasn’t the best it was a cool, dark day compared to the few days prior, but it was Halloween day, and we are in Canada! It almost always rains or snows that day, and of course it did end up raining.

Everything took place at Hotel Metro. A newer, very modern looking hotel in the heart of downtown London, Ontario. The room had a beautiful brick wall, and a very big window with a nice open concept. The ladies had their hair and makeup done in the room, and I snagged a few shots. The Bride handmade her and the Bridesmaids bouquets, I loved the colours! They were a nice pop to the neutral coloured dresses.

It was a very quaint and intimate Wedding with close family and friends. The ceremony was held in the Atrium of the hotel, its a very large open room with big windows at the top that lets in lots of daylight. They had a violinist playing their music for them. It was very sweet. They walked down the isle to Marry You by Bruno Mars. The backdrop was a handmade scroll that the Bride had made.

I was able to get some family and group photos for them inside the room before the ceremony, and afterwards in the Atrium since it was raining outside.

They had a nice sit down diner at Blu Duby the restaurant within hotel, along with the with their friends and family and some cute decor they had incorporated at their tables. They even had their own cute homemade Wedding Cake. I had the Bride and Groom sneak outside and bare the cool rainy weather for a quick “Thank You” photo.

Thanks for allowing me to capture your big day guys! It was a beautiful event and you were all gorgeous!

Sara and Jason’s Wedding

Sara and Jason had a beautiful wedding at the Slit Barn in Cambridge. Its an old property with lots of greenery. The old restored barn was beautifully decorated with lots of flowers in mason jars, a teacup display for the evening coffee and tea, and they even had a live band!

We lucked out with the weather has it had been very hot the few days prior but thankfully we got a nice break from the heat and it was just a perfect sunny day!

The girls had to get ready for the big day! Hair and makeup can be time consuming, but It was an evening wedding, starting at 7:00 pm, so we had lots of time.

The ceremony was held outside, outback of the restored home that is also on the property. They had nice wood benches, and along the isle they had white lanterns, along with a row of hay bales at the front covered with white cloth. There were beautiful flower arrangements that were sitting on top of old barrels. It was very country chic.

Sara and Jason had a special log cutting during the ceremony. The log cutting is meant to symbolize the first obstacle they will over come together as a married couple. Its a tradition at German weddings, and while these two are not German, it was a very lovely idea, and something I had never seen before!

They then did the traditional kissing of the Bride, and they were officially married. Jason’s dad played live while they walked down the isle to celebrate their union.

We were able to get lots of family photos for them. They both have very welcoming families. Everyone was having fun, but eventually Kye; Sara’s boy, just wasn’t having it anymore. He wanted to run around and play, which I don’t blame him, I’d rather not have my photo taken a hundred times either!

The wedding party was looking great! The ladies had beautiful pastel coloured dresses, and the men had blue toned suites. These guys were not afraid to be silly, which was so fun!

The reception was held in the actual barn itself. They had nice chandeliers lit up, and other string lights hung around the place. They had lots of yummy treats! I felt like a kid in a candy store. Sour keys, Coke Bottles, Popeye Cigarettes, cupcakes and other baked goodies. You could get a sugar rush just looking at it all!

They had some lovely speeches, and then it was time to dance and party!

And last but not least the gorgeous couple!

Whitney Weds Adam – May 30th 2015

We started off the day bright and early with the girls getting their hair and makeup done. It was surprisingly warm for 8 am and the sun was shining beautifully! We were thankful that the thunderstorm we expected had held off.

Then it was the Bride’s turn!

I was then able to sneak off and get some of the groom getting ready.

The ladies and I met back at the location of the wedding so the Bride and Bridesmaids could finish getting ready.

It was then time to walk down the aisle and become Mr. and Mrs. D!

You may now kiss the Bride!

The beautiful bride greeting her guests.

Now its time to get the party started! It immediately down poured as soon as the ceremony ended. Thankfully we were able to take shelter in the dining tents they had put up for the wedding. There was a ton of beautiful flowers arrangements from the grooms fathers place of work, and lots of handmade items decorated the tables. Picture burlap and lace with mint green tablecloths and napkins. You would have never known you were in a backyard, a beautiful backyard might I add. They also had a photo booth with lots of fun props!

We were able to keep the families nice and dry with the beautiful patio provided by the Bride’s grandparents and then once the while the rain let up we took off to get some photos of the Bridal party.

Time for the first dances!

Now for some speeches, some laughter and a few tears. This is always the time when you find out the silly things the bride and groom did growing up. I always love hearing those funny stories.

They also had a candy bar! With gumballs, and rock candy suckers, chocolate eggs, jelly beans, War Heads, the list goes on! Lets just say the kid in all of us was very happy.

And of course we can’t forget the beautiful bride and handsome groom!

And then we danced into the night!
